Description
This laboratory course reinforces and complements the lecture topics presented in BIO 0312, Introduction to Microbiology, which must be taken concurrently. Students will observe and culture microbes, especially bacteria, learn specific protocols for isolating, culturing, handling, and studying microbes safely, practice sterile technique, and become familiar with basic laboratory instrumentation including spectrophotometers and centrifuges.
