Students can take either SUE 0324 or BIO 0324, but not both for credit.
This course deals with the politics of managing human activities to prevent, reduce, or mitigate harmful effects on nature and quality of life. Environmental issues such as protection of natural resources and biodiversity, air and water pollution, climate change, and waste management are among the topics addressed. Formulation of policies on the basis of sustainabilty, equity, human rights, risk assessment, and polluter accountability is disucussed.
