Description

RDG 0029 / Reading Improvement is a four hour course which is designed to improve basic reading skills through individualized development of vocabulary, comprehension and critical thinking. Study skills are also included. The correlation between reading and writing skills will be stressed. To achieve these goals, the class will work in a collaborative learning environment. Methods of instruction include: textbook reading, lecture, use of hand-outs and worksheets, group reading and discussion, vocabulary development exercises, use of audio-visuals, and computer aided assessment and reinforcement through the lab component of the course utilizing MyReadingLab.
