Description

Emphasizes the nature, characteristics, goals, content objective, major theorists, terminology, units of analyses and skills for the social science at the secondary level with attention to the NCSS standards. Basic concepts in the eight desciplines of the social sciences are analyzed and reviewed. Students develop and organize the concepts and literature for an interdisciplinary thematic unit in the social sciences. Candidates' knowledge, skills, and dispositions performance are assessed by examinations, demonstrations, by documented understanding of the teacher wor sample methodology applied to secondary and middle school social studies NCSS standards to include contextual factors, learning goals, assessment plan, design for instruction, classroom management, instructional decision-making, analysis of student learning, reflection and self evaluation, and family involvement plan.
