Description
This course is designed to assist students in developing strategies to assist special needs learners to understand and construct meaningful conceptions of number and number operations/relationships. Important focal points of the course relate to the use of intervention strategies, prescriptive teaching techniques and developmental approaches to ensure that the effects of students' learning difficulties in mathematics are minimized. The course makes extensive provisions for use of multiple mathematical representations and concrete materials.
