Description

This course is first course in statistics for students in the social sciences and serves as a pre-requisite for upper-level coursework in Research Methods in the social sciences. Topics include the presentation of interpretation of univariate and bivariate data using graphical and numerical methods, probability, discrete and continuous probability distributions, linear regression, an understanding of good practice in study design, statistical inference, confidence intervals and hypothesis testing, and the use of technology for statistical analysis.
