Description
This course will focus on the importance of promoting effective professional and interpersonal relationships with special needs students receiving services in an array of educational settings, their parents, and other personnel. The knowledge obtained in taking this course will assist students in eliciting participation in assessment procedures, developing appropriate educational programs, collaborating with other service providers and establishing relationships with other students. It should assist students in developing empathy for families of students who have a disability, enhance their communication skill with families, students, and professionals, and enable them to become informed of school and community resources availabel to students and their families.
