In this course the student will examine some of the major philosophical issues dealt with by both philosophers and authors of literature, and they will be encouraged to think critically about these issues. These issues include: Who am I? How should I live? Is society just? Does God exist? A multi-cultural approach will be emphasized.
Students will also examine the nature and value of philosophy itself and will be engaged in critical discussion and writing about the above issues. Philosophers covered in this course will represent a variety of cultures, including eastern, western, African and Islamic.
